Acne and rosacea
The SAPG guidance on "Long-term antibiotic use for people with acne and rosacea" has now been retired.
It was created in 2019 in response to a request for guidance on the management of patients on long-term antibiotics in acne and rosacea as at the time there was an identified gap in available guidance on this topic.
The following guidance has been published since 2019:
- NICE guideline on acne vulgaris: management NG198 2021
- NICE clinical knowledge summary on rosacea 2021
- British Association of Dermatologists guidelines for the management of people with rosacea 2021
There is no longer a gap in guidance on this topic and SAPG committee agreed to withdraw this guidance in February 2023.
